Pretty decent sled, the only thing that was a problem was the shocks,if you ride aggresivly they won't last and are not rebuidable, but if you ride half decent they should work fine.Good sled decent mileage and power.

This sled is a very good one. I have one and it is true the shocks are junk. I would replace them with a used pair of HPG shocks. It is my wifes sled and she has only 3800 miles on it.

after doing a little asking around locally, I'm wondering if the only diference between the Formulas and the MXZs is the suspension?

Correct. The only difference is the shocks/springs (the actual skid and trailing arms are the same in the MXZ and Formula Z 600) They are both ZX chassis sleds with the SC-10II suspension. If you want to make it ride like an MXZ, all that you'll need are the rear torsion springs, rear shocks & spring, and the front shocks/springs. Just look up the parts between the two models on www.hlsm.com Shocks are pretty easy to come by on eBay, too (I just got front and rear shocks, with springs for $50 per pair off eBay -- really low miles, too. They look/act like new..)

The Chassis/Engine/etc are exactly the same between the two sleds.

The MXZ is the stiff, snowcross sled, where the Formula Z is the "cadillac" type sled (softer, cushy ride..).

The FZ 600 is a great sled. I have ridden the 2000 Formula Z 700, and loved it, just needed a little stiffer shocks/springs for my tastes. I would say go for it if you are getting a decent deal (it seems like MXZ's demand a much higher price than the FZ's for some reason) How much you getting it for?

just for the heck of it does anybody have input on what a screaming good deal would be for this 2000 formula Z 600 with less than 1000 miles, some cosmetic extras, studded, cover, and trailer. i'll be posting back on saturday nite with the details.

Around here, this time of year, you can get something like that for about $3000. In the fall, closer to $4000-4500. Add another $500 for the trailer (depending on what it is. 2 Place galvanized steel tilt trailers are $650 for a NEW one around here, Aluminum is about $700-900). A local dealer here has a 2000 FZ 600 for sale right now, and they want $3900 for it (600 miles, like new condition).

At the snowmobile auction a couple weeks ago, there was a couple 2000 Formula Z 700's that went for $3,000.

All prices in US dollars.

I bought it and here's the deal; 2000 formula Z 600, 740 miles,perfect,96 carbide studs, 7-1/2" of carbide, lots of colored extras ( skid plate, snow flap, shock covers, running board grips, hood screens and rear plastic), deluxe cover, extra studs, gallon of ski doo oil, all original parts that were replaced. Also a 2002 alum. triton 2 place tilt trailer with salt sheild , runners, track mats, spare tire, locks and decals. I got all this for 3900. Pretty good ? what do you guys think?

Well, judging from what you and Mach Jim have been posting I wouldn't be ashamed to post that purchase. It sounds to me like you made out quite well. Especially with a trailer.
