Sometimes there aren't any problems with a line of engines, maybe you just got a "bad" engine. It happens to all companies. Its under warranty right? Probably won't happen again, maybe just a bad crankshat casting.
My vision is better then my hearing...shut up and show me something.

Never heard of a Yamaha triple breaking a crank, but at 900 miles the dealer should be right there on this one. Hard to imagine it breaking, those lower ends are pretty bulletproof.
If you are in the ditch, upside down, and the sled's on top of you, you are doing something wrong.....

Sounds like you broke the PTO that is pressed on the end of crank. The same thing happened to my 95 INDY 500. severe vibration then BOOM! no go. only towed 200' to trailer.. lucky
