1973? Raider 44tt Carb help

If the cc's are shown somewhere on that engine, I can help you with the year. In 72 the 440 Raider was 440cc's(Hirth engine), and it had 2 WR5's on it, the 72 raider 400-400cc(CCW engine) had one WD6. In 73 it was just called a 44TT, and 2 engine options where availble, a 436cc and a 437.7cc(CCW engines), both were equipped with a WDA38. Not sure where the WDA31 came from(unless my book is wrong). After a little searching I found that John Deere used a WDA31 on a 74 and 75 300, it came with a Kohler engine 292cc K295-2AX4. Also, Arctic cat used a WDA31 in 1973 on 3 Kawasaki motors and the Wankel rotary. I guess this carb should work for ya, just thought you might find the info interesting. Pete.

1973? Raider 44tt Carb help

The engine ID Tag says KEC-440 and its a Curtiss-Wright engine. Im thinking 73 for the year because of that. I have no idea where else to look for a year on the sled. The carb very plainly has WDA31 stamped right in to the body of it near the intake. This sled came from an auction and is in very good condition. I would really like to get it running. The speedo says it only has 267 miles on it. Maybe its right...lol. Thanks for all your help.

1973? Raider 44tt Carb help

Postby RAIDER KEN » January 19th, 2005, 2:21 pm

On my 1972 raider last week, my carburetor did the same thing due to the change of the weather from rain to freezing cold causes your inlet fuel needle to stick open. Not knowing when the last time your carburetor was overhauled it might have something clogged in it also.
If you need any information on rebuilding feel free to e-amil me.

Good Luck,
Raider Ken
