With the success of F-500 do you guy's think it is time foe a F-600 class based on the XLT,or some other popular, inexpensive model. Allow for a few more modification, because of the added speed. One more affordable step on the lsdder.

Interesting idea but XLT stuff would be a lot harder to find and this seems like you'd just split the f500 crowd into two even smaller classes than the f500 is by itself already.

I would say we have too many classes as it is and too few racers. The F500 in the midwest has seen it's first year of solid numbers throughout the circuits.

Last thing you want to do is run the trip 6's even if you did go to a 600 class - that just increases expense for a little extra power vs the twins.
Recently I was asked to play in a golf tournament.

At first I said, "Naw, I haven't been playing that well."

Then they said to me, "Come on, it's for handicapped and blind kids."

Then I thought...

What kind of interest would there be in a 0-600 stock class? Same rules as the current "pure stock" but use the ISR 15 yr rule, so for 2011 sleds from 1996 & newer but probably should cut it off at 2009 so as not to interfear with the current pure stock effort. Remember - stock means stock, so no kits or custom anything - studs, carbides, follow the 2" min. travel rule & race it! Seems like most of the current Sportsman 600 fleet would be legal also if they had factory skis on them. Worth it or not?

I'd like it as a sport level class. It would be a great way to get new people involved. However, I dont like long skis on oval sleds

john. great topic this class would work because these sleds are to cheap to buy and setup we just bought a 600 xc for 100 .00 not 12000.00for purestock go for it but sled must remain stock from ski s to track to get people involved..thanks pat duchene

This past fall at the Wausau swap meet I saw a jr. sprint sled for sale for $14,000.00. That means every spint, limited and champ chassis cost at least that much. The new pure stocks with cost more. In the old days a driver would start in stock then move to mod stock, then mod followed by super mod etc. I was just looking for a cheap way for drivera to move up and not park in a class and beat up on the new guys, this is what killed racing in the 1980's.

The STOCK rules are written in the 2009/2010 Year Book, Page 55 & 56.

bmf, SPORTSMAN 600 is a good starter class, low cost.

Add another class? Simple answer--NO!!! Stick with your f-500 group and let it grow into what it can be. I agree that some of the 600 parts will be easy to find and affordable, however you are defeating the purpose by continually diluting the racer and fan base with new and additional classes. Just my humble opinion!!! TB
